  • Arkansas Democrat-Gazette: AN EDITORIAL for Princella Smith
Every congressional district should have a candidate who’s this outgoing, smart and just plain eager to get to work on your behalf-and with enough enthusiasm to light up the wholestate from her home in Wynne, Ark. Heck, every congressional district ought to have three or four candidates like her in both primaries, so voters could choose from the best of the best. Every few years, maybe every decade, a candidate for public office comes to the paper and the editorial writers are sorry to see the interview end. (Can you come back tomorrow? Next Thursday?)

  • CivicForumPAC: Princella Smith is a new kind of candidate. The right kind.
If you were 26 years old and lived in Arkansas’ 1st Congressional District, you probably wouldn’t know anything other than Democratic Congressmen existed.  The last time a Republican held a seat there in “The Delta?” — 1875.

  • TownHall.com: Run, Princella, Run!
Some voters in Arkansas’1st Congressional District will believe that Princella Smith is just too young to be a congresswoman.  Doing business on Capital Hill requires wisdom and life experience; at 26-years-old, Smith is just a baby.  Of course, age was not an issue for Edward Rutledge, who at 26 signed the Declaration of Independence.  Nor was age an issue for Amelia Earhart, who at 25 set an altitude record for female aviators.

  • Women of the GOP: 26 Year Old Princella Smith for Congress in Arkansas
Anyone who has ever called the GOP the "party of old white guys" has obviously never met Princella Smith. Not only is she a proud member of the GOP, but she's young, she's black, and she's a woman. Oh, and she's running for Congress in Arkansas. So just who is this young woman who's taking the "Natural State" by storm? Here is at her short life leading up to her not-so-typical run for Congress.

Listeners of KARN know that radio talk show host Dave Elswick makes no secret that he is a conservative. However, he usually stays neutral in primary battles. But today he was impressed enough with one candidate in his own Congressional District to lend her his support.

  • American Spectator: Will Ms. Smith go to Washington?
Last Thursday, I interviewed Rick Crawford, Republican candidate for Congress in Arkansas District 1. Today, I had a chance to speak with his primary opponent, Princella Smith. The 26-year-old Wynne, Arkansas native is attempting to replace the retiring Democratic Congressman Marion Berry, in a district that has not elected a Republican since the Reconstruction. Despite the Democratic hold, the Northeast Arkansas district is rated "R+8" by Cook Partisan Voter Index.  Hence, this race is a golden opportunity to elect both a conservative and a Republican into Congress.

A 26-year-old Wynne, Arkansas woman has thrown her hat into the political arena declaring her candidacy for the District 1 seat in the U.S. Congress. To this day there has not been a republican, African American female elected to the U.S. Congress in the house or senate, but Princella Smith hopes to change all of that.
